Modern Iconography. This scene depicts the Virgin Mary with classic symbolism holding the Christ Child! The iconography was built as a “Visio Divina” art piece meant to inspire devotional meditation on the Holy Family as depicted in a very real and human moment shared between all mothers and their infants…a sacred moment which should not be interrupted.

Modern Icon. This piece is a modern reimagining of ancient Orthodox iconography, blending its sacred themes with contemporary expression. This represents the “unknown saint” – those who lived a good life but did so in humility and without public recognition.

These flowers were painted as a triptych based on Peony’s from the collectors garden. They held a special beauty with striking colors that made them pop off the canvas. Each canvas was 24×36 creating a collective project spanning about 7 feet across.

Salem is an image of radical hospitality. After traveling to a small town in Turkey, I fell in love with the people. Some offered us tea or meals. Others offered us, as strangers, a place to stay in their own homes! Many offered Turkish Coffee which, for me, became a symbol of their generous way of life.

Modern Icon. This piece is a modern reimagining of ancient Orthodox iconography, blending its sacred themes with vibrant color and contemporary expression. At its center is a radiant skull—not as a symbol of death, but of renewal. Rather than marking an end, it represents transformation, a passage into something greater.

No filter is a critical analysis of the cleaned up, filtered, and inauthentic depictios of humanity on Social Media. Humans are wild and messy and, when we are free to organize authentically, there is beauty in just being us!

No filter II is a continued analysis and critique of social media which is saturated with inauthentic and filtered depictions of humanity. Humans have always been wild and messy. When we are allowed to organize authentically, there is beauty and freedom to be found in just being us!
